Learning in the fly
Flies (Phormia terrae novae)
were trained to enter a cylinder to obtain small amounts of sugar
solution. After sessions without reinforcement, we used a continuous
reinforcement schedule. We show that response rates increase
with reinforcement. The observed behaviour is not the result
of an unconditional effect of sugar consumption. However, because
of some procedural details, it is difficult to be sure we obtained
some kind of operant behaviour. |
