Considerations about behavior
variability Maria Helena Leite Hunziker and Rafael Moreno University of São Paulo and University of Sevilla, Brazil and Spain Variability can be more than just an experimental noise: it can be an object of study per se. Our assumption is that for understanding behavior it is important to discover the laws governing both behavioral variability and replicability. The concepts and measures of variable behavior will be analysed as well as some conditions that control it. Our analysis will be centered on the learned variability, especially the one controlled by operant reinforcement. Methodological criteria useful for different scientific concepts and definitions are used for the description and systematization of the concept of behavioral variability. Experimental data will be reported for basing on this analysis. Keywords: behavior variability, conceptual analysis, methodological analysis |
