Transference between Language
Modes and Interaction Levels: Reading-Writing, Talking-Listening,
Pointing At-Looking The present work is placed in the conceptual frame of a model -inter behaviorism and a particular theory -the behavior management taxonomy-.Language modes are conventional conducts that are established as domains with differentiated morphologic properties. In order to study the different modes, it is proposed the distinction of contingencies measurement criteria as well as the unbounded types in each of the functional interaction levels. where parameters, skills and aptitudes are identified in order to observe and measure the effects of \vertical and horizontal transference. This work describes four studies that analyze the necessity of passive modes in the apprenticeship of the active ones. In order to reach this aim, two experiments were designed using the conditional relation of second order, and other two, with the first order. 48 children participated in the study, twelve in each, they were all experimentally naive, ranged between 9 and IO years old, and attended the fourth grade of elementary education level in public schools at the city of Xalapa, Veracruz. Experiments used a counter balanced design with first and second order equalization tasks of the sample. The design consisted of. previous test, writing mode training. three transference tests, -talking mode training, the three transference tests in the same sequence, pointing at mode training, the three transference tests in the mentioned sequence and final test- The requested answers in each of the different kinds of training and tests were related with the used language mode and the type of experiment. In the first event: to write without reading, to talk without listening and to point at without looking; in the second event: to write while reading, to talk while listening and to point at while looking. The obtained data reveal the need of passive modes in the learning of active modes, and it is specially observed with the modes of writing-reading and talking-listening.
