The present paper sought to update and extend recent findings indicating that, while the percentage of experimental analysis of human behavior (EAHB) articles published in the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior (JEAB) is growing, the actual growth of particular research areas is somewhat more selective. Data-based EAHB articles published in (JEAB) and The Psychological Record between 1980 and 1999, and in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (JABA), between 1970 and 1999 were analysed according to the following three criteria. First, articles were assigned to an international region of origin (Australasia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Cooperative [between one or more categories]). Second, EAHB articles were assigned to one or more of the following five research content areas: (a) Behavioral Pharmacology, (b) Choice and Preference, (c) Stimulus Control, (d) Reinforcement and Punishment, and (e) Social and Verbal Behavior. Finally, we analyzed authorship patterns to identify trends in the appearance of unfamiliar authors and frequent contributors to each of the three journals. Publication trends suggest a general growth in international attention to EAHB, but geographic asymmetries in the preferred topics of investigation.
