The EABA
(European Association for Behaviour Analysis)

The idea of a European Association for Behaviour Analysis first surfaced during the 4th International Congress on Behaviourism in Sevilla in November 1998. During that congress an informal meeting took place attended by Drs. T. R . Miles, UK; Paolo Moderato, Italy; Fergus Lowe, UK; Rafael Moreno, Spain; Pauline Horne, UK; Peter Harzem, USA; and three representatives of the Norwegian Association for Behaviour Analysis - Per Holth, Erik Arntzen, and Arne Brekstad. It was here decided to start preliminary work for the creation of a European Association for Behaviour Analysis -EABA - to support the development of experimental and applied behaviour analysis in Europe.

At the meeting of the Experimental Analysis of Behaviour Group in London in March 1999 a committee was elected to consider the administrative, financial and professional problems connected with the creation of EABA. The EABA Committee consists of the following Drs.: Mecca Chiesa, Scotland; Julian Leslie, Ireland; Michel Sokolowski, France; Rafael Moreno, Spain; Fergus Lowe, Wales; J.A. Farsethaas, Norway; Luis A. Pérez-González, Spain; Harrie Boelens, Netherlands; Paolo Moderato, Italy, and Arne Brekstad, Norway.

The committee will present its considerations at the 4th EMEAB in Amiens in July 1999.
